Coleford town in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire has twinned with a town in the Vendee region of France called St Hilaire de Riez.

 

The Chair of the Coleford Twinning Association is Iain Baird. The President of the St Hilaire twinning association, called the Echanges Franco Britanniques, is Damien Guibert.

The two twinning associations are keen to involve as many members of the two communities as possible. This includes schools, youth clubs, sports clubs, music and arts groups, families and, of course, local businesses. Coleford Twinning Association welcome a group of young people and their leaders to Coleford on 24th July. They are staying loocally and are making their most of their four days in the Forest of Day with a trip down the River Wye, an Archery session and Going Ape at Beechenhurst. Berry Hill Rugby Club are also hosting them for a game of skittles with youngsters from the Mount of Olives Youth Group. Their visit will end with a trip to Monmouth for the music festival.
